Ohhhhhh. My. Gods. This is for real, people. We have a trailer.

Diligent blog readers will notice that I only just finished reading¬†American Gods a few months ago, but it’s one of those series that really stuck in my head. My boyfriend read it when it was released and had been nagging me to read it ever since, and I went to House on the Rock and did the whole thing and then had to pick it up and oh. Oh my gosh.

Let’s get to the point here, though: this trailer looks amazing. A little too amazing, almost, because it feels like it was lifted exactly from my imagination, which I guess is a testament to Neil Gaiman and what he can do with writing. And this casting has seemed incredible from the very first announcement, but getting to see Ian McShane in action as Mr. Wednesday and and and ??? This is so perfect?????

The series isn’t coming out until next year, which means there’s plenty of time to read and reread the book (which you can pick up on Amazon if you’d like to support the blog while you figure out what it’s all about) but I am so,¬†so excited for the release. It’s also worth noting that at today’s Comic Con panel, Neil Gaiman and Bryan Fuller pretty much confirmed “If it’s a favorite in the book, it’ll be in the show,” meaning we can definitely look forward to, say, Media asking if Shadow would like to see Lucy’s you-know-what.

Let me know your thoughts in the comments! Are you excited? Nervous? What do you think of the trailer? Which character are you most excited to see come to life?
